Winter Reading
Last Sunday, Nov 5, 2006, we had our first major storm of the winter season. Lots of rain and wind with gust of 120, so it was reported. As a result the lights went out. This happens with the severe storms around here. You get use to it. I get out my battery light, fuzzy blanket and book. It seems that stormy weather is perfect for reading. There is nothing else you can do, like clean house or Internet, so reading is perfect to pass the time. It gives me the chance to read one of the many books I have saved for my own reading pleasure. A lot of people enjoy reading in the sunshine on a beautiful day, I prefer to do active things when our weather permits it. We have very few warm sunny days. But come winter, I am reading up a storm of my own! Right now I am reading the four book series of The Lord of the Rings. I know the movie version is out, but I did not watch it. I was busy reading! Plus I prefer to read the stories instead of watching the movie version. Besides you can not watch a movie when the lights go out!! Have a great week and keep on reading.
